Today (the day after Mother's Day 2023), I continue to celebrate all the ways people come into motherhood.
The most literal and obvious way is by physically giving birth to a child. Through a physical birth, I am a mother to one, but I can't help but think about all I have given birth to this year alone.
While I could rattle off workbooks and templates I have done, books I'm writing this year and clients I have supported this year, I want to focus on YOU. If you can appreciate the ways I have birthed ideas and projects, then you have it in you to appreciate your own birthing processes.
How many times have you had to allow more healing in your life, when you already felt tender and worn?
How many times have you had to create room for new ideas by letting go of a long-held belief - when doubling down would have allowed you to rest in your comfort zone, even if just for a moment?
How many times have you held a boundary, when doing so risked the end of a relationship?
Every time you've had to pivot away from something you were so sure of, you have given new life.
Every time you've had to try again after what feels like defeat, you have given new life.
Each of these times, something has had to die (for example, a sense of superiority or a fragile sense of safety) so something else, such as self-acceptance, could live in you.

At each stage of your business, you've had to birth new versions of yourself, as you released unworkable realities and embraced new possibilities. For clarity on this, let's go to the stages of business development I assist clients with:
Planning your business
Starting your business
Untangling what you've started
Resetting what you've untangled
Preparing for growth
In planning your business, you let go of some illusions of certainty. You birthed a new version of yourself that is a student of your business, one who is curious about and open to what the data tell you about your business.
In starting your business, you let go of that person who was overwhelmed by rejection sensitivity. You birthed a new version of yourself who believes you can find ways to understand and connect with your ideal client - even with your rejection sensitivity.
In untangling what you've started, you let go of that version of yourself who was afraid to admit that even really good decision making can led to unwanted outcomes. You birthed a new version of yourself who is willing to search the ruins of unwanted outcomes for critical business lessons.
In resetting what you untangled, you let go of that version of yourself that almost gave up. You birthed a new version of yourself that can imagine you are starting with a clean slate, except with a lot more wisdom this time.
In preparing for growth, you let go of an existence defined by struggle. You birthed a new version of yourself that could imagine scaling your business for more security, more stability, more reliability and greater impact.
You are planning, starting, untangling, resetting and preparing for growth, in small and large ways. Sometimes you are doing one at a time; sometimes, many or all at a time. Either way, you are constantly birthing a new business; creating new possibilities.

I know the personal costs you pay to bring new possibilities into the world.
You are a mother/father of ideas, of vision, of purpose.
That's why you are here; why you and I are here together

Please share what you birth this week.
This week has been a re-birth from past traumas and narratives. It is a steady, uncomfortable yet pleasing at a gut soul level. It's the assurance of churning change!
Great read , thank you !
